Nuestros Comienzos

Our Beginnings

January 1°, 1971. At #350 of San Martin street, a new office is built with a new style different from the old buildings that are built throughout this short but very important street of the city of Ushuaia.
But it was not the new building which surprised the population, but the new kind of activities. It had been born in Ushuaia, the first Travel Agency. .

The name: Rumbo Sur.

     
   Today, beyond of being the first Travel Agency in Ushuaia, is leader in the Patagonia Region. High quality, excellence and 29 years of experience, make our services the best..
     
  
There are different departments within our office: Reception and attendance
for individual passengers or groups of passengers, national and international excursions, national and international air tickets, sale, reception and attendance of cruises that go to Antarctica and of those super ships (1200 passengers or more) that sail through the South Atlantic and South Pacific Oceans and have our city as main destiny on their trips, land and marine excursions, congresses, conventions and conferences with their proper arrangements, organization and coordination of the same ones (national and international), professional staff prepared to attend and assist tourists.

   An automotive park made up of 12 great bus, two modern vans for 14 passengers each one and two special vehicles, designed for the transport of luggage with a capacity of 350 suitcases each one, is used to provide services and attendance to those super cruises that year after year arrive at the port of Ushuaia from different continents (Line "C", Costa Marina, Costa Allegra, Enrico C, Eugenio C, Seabourn Pride, Seabourn Spirit, Royal Viking, Renaissance Cruises, Europe, Pacific Princess, Royal Princess, Neue Amsterdam, Crystal Harmony, Norwegian Crowne, Norwegian Dream, Noordam, Ryndam, Viking Bordeaux, Deutscheland, Stella Solaris, Switzerland, Polaris, Odysseus, Calypso, Arkona, Berlin, Vistamar, Vistafjord, Sagafjord, Marco Polo, Jean Mermoz, Caledonian Star, Regent Are, Terra Australis) and to those that go to Antarctica (Akademik Vavilov, Livonia, Petrov, Akademik Ioffe, Alla Tarasova, Multanovsky, Molchanov, Kaptain Khlebnikov, Clipper Adventurer, Gregory Mikheev, Bremen, Hanseatic, World Discoverer, MS Explorer, Kaptain Dranitsyn, Maria Yermalova).
The boats that go to Antarctica, receive their passengers in Ushuaia, who arrive by airplane at our new international airport "Malvinas Argentinas", which is enabled to receive and to attend airships of great bearing like the MD88, Boeing 757, Boeing 747 Jumbos Jet and the Concorde, that normally arrive at our city.

Also we made reservations for restaurants, transfers, lodging, regular and private excursions (Tierra del Fuego National Park, Lakes Fagnano and Escondido, flights in small planes, trekking, Horse riding, mountain-bike, fishing trips, excursions in the Beagle Channel with our modern catamarans, the Chilean Fueguian Channels, Cape Horn and Glaciers with sailboats, cruises from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas and many more options) inside and outside Ushuaia.
