The
possibility of combining BUS - TRAIN - CATAMARAN
Located only 11 kilometers away from the city, the National Park
Tierra del Fuego, is unique as it has mountains, forests and sea,
all in the same area. The excursion begins leaving towards the southwest
by the national route nro. 3, passing by the Susana Mount slope,
witness of the Old Penitentiary of Ushuaia prisoner's work and life.
The route continues throughout the valley of the Pipo River, beside
the river we can see the Southern Fuegian Railway, here we will
stop to take te World's End Train that rides through the old railway
used by the prisoners, up to the Toro's valley inside the National
Park. We will continue our excursion towards the Ensenada bay, we
will contemplate the Redonda Island and on the other coast of the
Channel of Beagle, Sampaio mountain range (Chile), leaving Ensenada
Bay, we will go to visit the Roca Lake, through a narrow path in
the forest watching all the species of our Fuegian Flora.
Once at the Roca Lake we will do one long walk bordering the Lake
and the Lapataia river, which birth at the Lake, from this point
it is possible to appreciate the Cóndor Hill, natural border with
the Republic of Chile. We will follow towards the zone of Lapataia
Bay passing by the Lagoons Green and Black, where we will have the
possibility of doing two long walks, one of them by the zone of
the Black Lagoon, spectacular growing peat bog, and the second one
besides the beaver dams area, beginning of a footpath that will
take us directly to Lapataia Bay, end of the national route nro.
3.
It is indeed in this Bay where one of our catamarans will be waiting
for to initiate the sailing tour through the Beagle Channel.
Once embarked, we will begin to sail close to the coast of the National
Park; from Tortuga point we will leave the Ensenada Bay. We will
also visit the region of the Bridges archipelago, interesting point
as it is indeed in the islands of this archipelago where large colonies
of birds and sea lions are concentrated. |
